CloudFit Software Customer Achieves Perfect 110/110 Score in CMMC Level 2 Assessment Using easyCMMC
Working with CloudFit Software, a small-to-midsize Defense Industrial Base contractor recently completed a CMMC Level 2 third-party assessment and achieved a perfect score across all required security objectives, with zero POA&Ms.
The customer, Compass, Inc., supports U.S. Department of Defense programs that involve the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information and was required to demonstrate full alignment with NIST SP 800-171 as part of ongoing and future contract eligibility. Like many organizations across the DIB, the contractor operates with a lean internal IT and compliance team and faced pressure to meet CMMC requirements quickly without disrupting core business operations.
CMMC Level 2 compliance has become a growing challenge for small and mid-sized contractors as enforcement timelines accelerate and assessment capacity remains limited. Many organizations struggle with unclear scoping, inconsistent control implementation, and the operational burden of maintaining compliance over time. CloudFit developed easyCMMC to address these challenges by providing a structured, assessment-aligned operating model designed specifically for DIB organizations.
Using easyCMMC, the customer was able to reach assessment readiness in 30 days and complete a successful C3PAO assessment with no gaps identified. The engagement resulted in a clean, clearly scoped assessment, strong assessor confidence, and a reduced compliance burden on the customer’s internal teams.
“This outcome demonstrates that CMMC compliance does not need to be complex, disruptive, or consultant-driven to be successful,” said Dr. Justin Hensley, Principal Program Manager and lead on the engagement. “When compliance is engineered correctly from the beginning, organizations can meet requirements efficiently while remaining focused on their mission and customers.”
“From the moment we entered the enclave to the assessment interviews, CloudFit kept everything on track,” said Misse Parzow, Director of Contracts and Compliance at Compass. “The team moved fast, finished early each day, and we passed our assessment with a perfect score. It was clear they knew exactly what they were doing.”
Key outcomes of the engagement included:
- Full achievement of all CMMC Level 2 security objectives aligned to NIST SP 800-171
- Zero POA&Ms required following third-party assessment
- A clearly defined compliance boundary that reduced scope ambiguity
- A sustainable compliance posture designed to support ongoing operations and future reassessments
The customer retained ownership of governance, business decisions, and organizational accountability throughout the process, while CloudFit supported the technical implementation and operational execution required to meet assessment expectations.
As CMMC enforcement continues to expand across the Defense Industrial Base, CloudFit expects more organizations to seek predictable, scalable approaches that reduce risk while maintaining long-term compliance readiness. This successful assessment reinforces the viability of structured, managed compliance models for contractors navigating increasingly complex regulatory requirements.
